Jay O’Neal is the owner and CEO of Lake Defense Force and SeaScapes NW.
He grew up in the South, spending his summers swimming in the many rivers of North Carolina. Jay served in the Marine Corps, driving tanks while enlisted and as an aviation supply officer in Iwakuni, Japan. Jay now works in the environmental services industry, focused on residential and commercial recycling.
Jay holds a bachelor of science in aerospace engineering from North Carolina State University; and a Master of Business Administration focused on corporate finance, capital markets and investments from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
While not thinking of new ways to eradicate milfoil, Jay enjoys landscaping his home, working out, and an occasional golf game. Jay’s family includes his wife, two daughters and a son, two Shar Peis, two cats, and a very resilient fish.

Alex Garry is the General Manager of The Lake Defense Force and SeaScapes NW.
Growing up in Washington and Alaska spending most of his time on the water fishing and boating, Alex grew an appreciation for the Pacific Northwest’s water ecosystem health. After becoming a commercial diver, graduating from the Divers Institute of Technology in Seattle, he immediately joined the company then known as Milfoil King. He spent the next 4 years helping grow the company into The Lake Defense Force.
When he isn’t busy trying to help discover new ways to curb the ever expanding problems with Washington’s lakes he enjoys fishing and relaxing by the water.
